Owens Maternity || North Augusta, SC Maternity Photographer

I love those girls that work in the MCG NICU! Slowly, I have gotten to meet a lot of them, and I hope to meet many more!  Melissa is one of those sweet nurses who may have one of the hardest jobs ever.  It takes a BIG heart to be able to take care of the teeny itty bitty babies!

In just 3 weeks or less, it’ll be Melissa’s turn to have her own little one to hold!  She and her hubby are going to have little Parker!  I am thrilled to announce they will be doing our baby plan, and that I will get to see sweet Parker just a few days after he is born for his first photo session.

At our session tonight, we started out in a big lush green field…

I have been waiting and waiting on Zachary to get here!  He FINALLY came at 40 weeks and 6 days!  He’s a BIG boy too!  9 lbs 3 ounces big! I just couldn’t stand it, I love him so much, I had to do a little mini-newborn session of him.

His mama and daddy are some of our best friends!  It was so fun to see little man just hours after he was born!  Congrats sweet Middleton and Nirk families!  He couldn’t be sweeter or cuter!

I know you guys remember adorable Silas and Ally from a few weeks ago!  Well, we finally finished up their session that got cut short due to crrrrrraaaaazy weather.  This time we got mom and dad in on the action! IMG_9476IMG_9481IMG_9515IMG_9464IMG_9498

So, when I first got to our location, Ally ran up with a wrapped present and handed it to me!  It is a beautiful yo-yo quilt!  I cannot cannot WAIT to use it in a newborn session soon!!!  I have a newborn girl session scheduled in a few weeks, and hopefully I’ll be able to showcase this beautiful quilt that has been gifted to me by the sweet Sackos Familly!

Thanks again!!

Staples Family || North Augusta, SC Family Photographer

I love meeting new clients for the first time!  We spend time over the phone and email planning out the session, and in this case we got to spend extra time, because our first session got rained out.  It’s always fun to finally get together and do the session!  Part of why I do what I do is because I love meeting people, and I love making people happy.

Sometimes, it’s easy to lose sight as to why photographs are so important.  But, really, there aren’t many ways to capture moments in time, and moments are fleeting.  Babies won’t always be babies.  They won’t always have those squishy feet and chubby cheeks.  They won’t always rest their heads on our shoulders and snuggle when they are sleepy.  Family Sessions are so important, so incredibly important.

Needless to say, the Staples family was easy to capture!  They were so sweet and loving.  Little Taylor worked the camera very well!  These guys were dream clients; they even said the words, “We’ll do whatever you want us to do…”  hehe.

This next shot almost always happens “on accident.”  I go for the cute sitting down family shot, and then baby crawls right at me.  I generally prompt mom and dad to snuggle or kiss in the background.  One thing is for sure, it’s one of my favorite shots for some reason!

mmmmmmmmm, this baby has some beautiful eyes!  These are the real deal folks, no color enhancement here!

A few more ’til I get the rest of the gallery done!

Chelsey Ray 6 months || Augusta, Ga baby and child photographer

Chelsey is on the Jessica V Photography Baby Plan. In fact, right now, she is my only active baby plan baby!  BUT, much to my joy, I have about 5 babies that will be born VERY soon that are already signed up.  Oh, I LURRRRVE me some babies!  I think my husband hopes that me working with these babies will curb my extreme desire for 50 children.  Unfortunately for him, it only makes it worse! haha.

Chelsey’s mama had some fun ideas for this shoot, so we worked together and brought them to life. Now, if you follow my blog or even drop by occasionally, you’ll know I’m a complete sucker for nostalgia.  Complete.   If there is an eensy weensy bit of sentimental value to anything, my heart just swells up inside and sighs big sighs.

The baptismal gown Chelsey is wearing in the first part of her session is made of her mother’s wedding dress, and was made by her grandmother.  Wow, that’s a bit more than eensy weensy sentimentality!

IMG_9253IMG_9249

I know, I know.  She’s breathtakingly beautiful.  Seriously, it’s HARD to take a bad photo of this child!  Also, please note my awesome antique wingback chair that is now available for shoots!  LOVE it!

After getting her out of her gown, we decided it was tutu and hat time. I’ve had this little set for quite some time now, and have been waiting for a sweet little girl to wear it!

So, most of the time, Chelsey looks just like her mama to me.  However, in this next shot, she looks like her daddy. I think it’s the expression in her eyes.

So, this next shot isn’t perfect in any way.  But, sometimes those types of shots end up being my faves anyway.  The lighting is a little blown out in the back, and the foreground isn’t focused just right, but I couldn’t resist letting you see her expression!  She tried SO hard to get that leaf, and she has such a look of complete satisfaction and accomplishment on her sweet face!

Next, we made our way over to an open field with tall grass.  This location is one of my absolute favorites to shoot at!  They sadly mow it every spring, but it’s back now!! Kelley has been planning this set up for quite some time! All I did was add some tall grass, she even provided the cute kid! lol.

Again, with the nostalgia…Kelley’s grandmother, which would be Chelsey’s great grandmother MADE the bowl Chelsey is sitting in!

I had a blast at this shoot!  I love getting creative and having fun with my sessions!  Kelley, I hope I helped bring your ideas to life!  Chelsey Ray is adorable!!!

I believe Fall may have peeked out from behind the scalding heat of summer today,
